"Working diligently to preserve the culture, land, and way of life of Native Hawaiians."

 (About Us)

The Hawaiian Native Corporation (HNC), a Hawaii non-profit corporation founded in February 2004, is controlled entirely by Native Hawaiians. HNC is organized and operated as a non-profit community impact organization whose business activities principally benefit Native Hawaiians. HNC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense under federal statutory authority as a “Native Hawaiian Organization” (NHO) and is certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

HNC’s Native 8a for-profit subsidiaries are: DAWSON Technical, DAWSON Federal, DAWSON Solutions, and DAWSON Enterprises. The DAWSON companies, collectively known as DAWSON, have offices in Hawaii, Texas, Alabama, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Tennessee.  DAWSON pays taxes in these states and also in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, and Virginia.

HNC is committed to preserving and perpetuating the unique history, culture, language, and natural environment of the Native Hawaiian people, principally through film, digital media, and other methods of communication.

Operating as a nonprofit organization, the NHO is empowered to establish ownership of minority firms that have been approved as small disadvantaged businesses (SDB) under the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program through either the start up process or the acquisition process.

Placing SDB 8(a) firms under the ownership of the NHO permits the SDB 8(a) firms to leverage the unique status of the NHO when contracting for business with the Department of Defense.
